Glenbriar Executive Team
Robert Matheson (Chairman and CEO), Glenn Matheson (Vice-President of Unified Communications), and Brian Tijman (Director and former CFO), founded Glenbriar in 1995.
Robert Matheson has been CEO and President since 1995. Mr. Matheson’s current responsibilities include defining and implementing Glenbriar’s overall corporate strategy, overseeing new product development initiatives, and negotiating corporate opportunities and business partner alliances.
From November 1982 to February 1997, Mr. Matheson held the position of Vice-President, General Counsel, Secretary, and CFO at Transwest Energy Inc.
Mr. Matheson holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Juris Doctor from the University of British Columbia.
Shankha Bhattacharyya, CPA, CMA, MBA was appointed Acting CFO and Controller in July 2016. Mr. Bhattacharyya has over 18 years of experience as an internal auditor, financial controller, investment analyst and financial consultant in the hospitality, financial services, high technology and IT services industries.
Mr. Bhattacharyya is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CMA) in Ontario and holds a Bachelor of Administrative Studies (Honours) in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration from York University (Schulich School of Business).
Glenn F.H. Matheson
Glenn F.H. Matheson is the Vice-President, Unified Communications, and has been an officer of Glenbriar since 1995. Glenn is responsible for Glenbriar’s network and communications division, which specializes in the implementation of third-party and customized VoIP solutions with best of breed, Tier 1 quality equipment products.
Prior to Glenbriar, Mr. Matheson provided information technology solutions through Edge Training & Consulting Ltd. in Vancouver. From May 1977 to February 1992, he held the position of Vice-President of Matheson Engineering and Developments Ltd., a consulting engineering, project design, construction management and land development company.
Mr. Matheson holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
Christine Padaric is Glenbriar’s Vice-President of Human Resources and Software Services with responsibility for the company’s Ontario operations. Ms. Padaric has been with Glenbriar since 1996.
Prior to joining Glenbriar, Ms. Padaric worked for eight years in Human Resources at Grand River Hospital, Freeport.
Ms. Padaric holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Windsor, a Diploma of Human Resource Management from Conestoga College, and is a Certified Human Resource Leader (CHRL). Ms. Padaric is also engaged as an instructor in Human Resource Management and Interpersonal Communication at Conestoga College.
Warren Berg is Glenbriar’s Vice-President of Information Technology with responsibility for managing the interaction of Glenbriar’s client/product and service provider relationship and developing strategic cross-selling opportunities throughout Glenbriar’s client base.
Mr. Berg’s career in the IT industry spans some 22 years during which he has held a range of senior management and consulting positions. With extensive experience in virtualization, Exchange and Active Directory design and implementation, Mr. Berg also contributes exceptional mentoring and client relations expertise to Glenbriar, which he joined in 2000.
Robert Matheson is joined on Glenbriar’s Board of Directors by Brian Tijman, one of the original founders of Glenbriar, and by Nicholas Jeffrey, Hashim Mitha and Iain Gordon, who are respectively the CEO, COO and CFO of Uniserve Communications Corp. (TSX-V: USS), Glenbriar’s parent company since June 2017.
Brian Tijman was CFO and Secretary of Glenbriar from 1997 until December 2013, but continues on as a director.
Commencing in 2014, Mr. Tijman returned to his previous role as President of Edgemont Software Inc.
From 1992 to 2013, Mr. Tijman was CFO and Secretary of Glenbriar.
From 1992 to 1997, Mr. Tijman was the President of Edgemont Software Inc., a Richmond, B.C. private engineering software development company.
Prior to 1992, Mr. Tijman held the position of Vice-President at Softek Services Ltd., a Vancouver-based private structural engineering software company.
Mr. Tijman holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
Nicholas Jeffrey was appointed a Director of Glenbriar in July 2017. Mr. Jeffrey has been the CEO of Uniserve Communications Corp. (TSX-V: USS) since March 2017. Mr. Jeffrey is a former Director of the Data Centre Solutions Group at CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm. At CBRE, Mr. Jeffrey was responsible for client strategy, advising data centre owners and multinational corporations on data centre acquisitions, new product developments, Cloud deployments and new geography strategies. Mr. Jeffrey is also considered an authority on cognitive connected buildings and smart city solutions, and led this portfolio for CBRE in Europe.
With over 25 years of telecommunications, media and technology experience, Mr. Jeffrey was previously the European Managing Director for PSINet Europe. He was part of the executive team that acquired PSINet for $15 million and sold it two years later for $150 million to Telstra and Interroute, having taken the business from a $30 million loss to a $15 million profit. Mr. Jeffrey has also been a C-level executive at data centre and Internet service companies such as Hostmark, Worldport and Digital Realty. Mr. Jeffrey relocated from London to Vancouver to take on his current role at Uniserve.
Hashim Mitha was appointed a Director of Glenbriar in July 2017. Mr. Mitha has been the President and COO of Uniserve Communications Corp. (TSX-V: USS) since September 2016. Since July 1996, Mr. Mitha has been engaged in numerous turnarounds under the banner of Kieradan Investments, his private venture capital company.
Mr. Mitha earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of British Columbia in 2003.
Iain Gordon was appointed a Director of Glenbriar in July 2017. Mr. Gordon has been the CFO of Uniserve Communications Corp. (TSX-V: USS) since November 2016. Prior to that, Mr. Gordon was the Managing Owner of Blackprint Accounting Services since October 2013, and was also Manager of Financial Business Processes for 1-800-Got-Junk prior to that.
Mr. Gordon holds a CPA-CMA in British Columbia.
