Using FTP (file transfer protocol)
FTP programs are available in many forms, there are almost too many to mention. You must use an FTP program to log in to your personal web space. Luckly you can also use Windows and Mac OS X's built in FTP clients.
Connection to the Server
- ftp://mypage.uniserve.com
You can use the link above to log-in to your web space account.
Log-in using your "username" which is the first part of your email address, before the "@" symbol. eg: username@uniserve.com. You will also need to use your password, it will be the same password you use to access your email.
Once you have Connected:
- Your website files must be uploaded to the following directory:
public_WWW (note: directory name is case sensitive). If this directory is not currently set-up, please create it. Your website files must be stored in the directory by this name. Your website will not be viewable if the directory name is misspelled or if the files are placed elsewhere.
- The first page of your website must be saved as either, index.html, or home.html in order for your website to be accessed without specifying a filename.
