Modem Lights
Online   Should be lit when you have an internet connection and your modem is functioning correctly.
Message   Message indicator light. Only used for self-testing when modem is turned on. Should be off.
Receive   Flashes when your modem is receiving data.
Send   Flashes when your modem is sending data.
Link   Should be lit when the modem is plugged in to your computer.

This modem requires a straight through (Standard) ethernet cable.
